Current adjudication issues
On 24 May 2011, ICES Yorkshire hosted a breakfast seminar on current adjudication issues by David
Oram of solicitors Hill Dickinson. The talk highlighted a number of pertinent issues which have recently hit
the headlines including the validity of onerous provisions for costs included in contracts, the severability of parts of a decision from other parts, bias on the part of the adjudicator, forum shopping, the new Local Democracy, Economic Development and Construction Act 2009, and preserving position whilst engaging
in adjudication under protest. The seminar was well attended and well received.
