Education
CICES is proud to support the launch of a new Level 3 Geospatial Surveying course by Suffolk New College — a significant step forward in widening access to careers within the geospatial and surveying profession.
This new course represents a major milestone for the East of England, creating opportunities for aspiring surveyors in a region where dedicated geospatial training pathways have previously been limited. By introducing this programme, Suffolk New College is helping to bridge the gap between education and industry, enabling more individuals to take their first steps into a highly skilled and in-demand profession.
CICES fully endorses this initiative and encourages employers across the sector — from small businesses to large organisations — to recognise the value of investing in emerging talent through Level 3 Geospatial apprenticeships. These programmes not only provide essential technical skills but also help to build a sustainable and future-ready workforce.
A Level 3 geospatial apprenticeship offers a strategic and practical foundation — a valuable “sidestep” that equips learners with the applied skills and industry insight needed for long-term career progression.
By supporting initiatives such as this, CICES continues to champion accessible routes into the profession and the development of the next generation of civil engineering surveyors.
