Volunteers' Week - A thank you + how you can get involved

Volunteers’ Week, running from 2 to 8 June, is an annual campaign recognising the invaluable contributions of volunteers across the UK. It is an opportunity to celebrate their achievements, share stories and encourage more people to get involved.

Giving back to your professional body serves a benefit both to the wider community and yourself.

With over 140 members currently sitting across our committees and councils + countless members providing their support as examiners, mentors and more, we reaffirm the importance + value of volunteering within a membership organisation.

Below, hear from current triple-Chair, find out ways you can get involved and some stats about the people who make up our institution.

CICES committee chair's view

Tim Over MCInstCES states:

'Volunteering for CICES as Chair of Utilities and Subsurface Mapping Panel and Anglia and Central region allows me to contribute to the professional growth of surveyors.

‘I enjoy fostering a supportive community, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices.

'The benefits include networking opportunities, personal development and the satisfaction of making a positive impact.

'Volunteering also helps me stay updated with industry trends and build lasting relationships with peers. It's a rewarding experience that enriches both my career and personal development.'
